Since the release of Doc Severinsen's Telarc Recording Trumpet Spectacular in 1990 Proto's Carmen Fantasy for Trumpet and Orchestra has become one of the most popular works in the solo trumpet repertoire. It has been performed over 500 times by a host of trumpet soloists throughout the world in both its orchestra and piano versions. This new edition features a piano reduction by the composer. Also, optionally available, are double bass and percussion parts making a chamber quintet performance of the entire work possible.
