Christopher Philpotts is Principal English Hornist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He is also the Principal Oboe with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. Chris was formerly Principal Oboe with the Dayton Philharmonic and Cincinnati Ballet Orchestras. He has been a featured soloist, both on oboe and English horn, many times with the Dayton Philharmonic and Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. He has been an active studio musician playing various recorders, flutes, guitar and the Ewi, an electronic windblown instrument. Chris has been performing with classical and jazz ensembles in the Cincinnati area for many years, includint Ekimi, Ictus and The Arion Consort.

Chris has also been an oboe reed craftsman, presenting workshops in the studios of Bert Lucarelli, Jim Caldwell and Dan Stolper in New York; Oberlin, Ohio; Interlochen, Michigan; Suny Purchase, The Hartt College in Hartford and Magic Mountain, Connecticut.
