Benjamin Fryxell, 19, is a cellist from Cincinnati, Ohio.

He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at The Juilliard School in New York City under the tutelage of Natasha Brofsky. In the past, he has also studied with Alan Rafferty, AliceAnn O'Neill, Lynn Harrell, Timothy Eddy, and Ralph Kirshbaum. In masterclasses, he has worked with James Tocco, Jian Wang, and Matt Haimovitz.

As a soloist, Mr. Fryxell performs often, and is committed to giving frequent recitals. In the past, he has performed as a soloist with the Blue Ash-Montgomery Symphony, the Blue Ash Youth Symphony, the Seven Hills Sinfonietta, the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and more. Additionally, in 2013, he performed with the combined forces of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra with the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra as the grand prize winner in their 2012 concerto competition. The 2013-2014 season brings Mr. Fryxell back to Cincinnati in a reengagement with the Blue Ash-Montgomery Symphony to premiere Frank Proto's Divertimento for Cello and Orchestra under the baton of Michael Chertock.
